WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY MASSAGE?
Massage may be a new experience for you. When we try something new and don’t know what to expect, we may naturally feel apprehensive or nervous. If this is your concern, you will be glad to know that your massage therapist will do everything possible to insure that your experience is positive and rewarding. You’ll be asked about your reasons for getting a massage, current physical condition, medical history, stress level, areas of pain and other pertinent topics.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY MASSAGE?
You will be asked to undress in private and drape yourself with the sheet provided by the therapist. The only clothing you should leave on is underwear if you prefer. You will lie down on a comfortably padded massage table. The therapist will undrape only that part of your body being massaged, insuring that your modesty is respected at all times.
RECEIVING YOUR MASSAGE
One of the fine things about massage is that it allows you to forget about clocks and schedules. Try to relax and to breathe deeply and regularly. Don’t try to help the therapist in any way. For example, when it is time for you to lift your arm, let it be lifted for you. Allow your body to be completely taken care of by the therapist. Finally, when your massage is over, there is no need to get up immediately. Lie still with your eyes closed and absorb whatever you are feeling a few minutes longer and breathe.
